Marius
&
The Apostate Of Rome
In the first century of the common era Rome was near to its apogee, Nero had died and Galba was now emperor, and was looking to demonstrate his authority and secure his position by eradicating all enemies of the state, which meant all those who were close to the previous emperor, would die. Marius; the son of Locusta, realises he needs to escape the scrutiny of the new regime. His mother, has been executed. And in fear for his life, he flees, only to be captured by the secret police of Galba. In his journey he comes into contact and conflict with friend and foe alike. He must also negotiate an association with a new sect, that is diverse in nature, and yet frowned upon by the Empire; not only that; he must face a different type of war; one that he is ill prepared to fight, and yet he has been thrust into the very heart of it.
